I was introduced to golf through Junior Junior started by Jack Mclaughlin and Lori Kane in 1990 at Shaughnessy. I started at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club back in the early 90's. They taught me the love of the game and paid attention to me at a very challenging time in my life. Parent divorce, kicked out of school in grade 5. I was in a dark place and golf was my refuge and sense of belonging. I caddied in my late teenage / early adult years at Bighorn, The Quarry, Plantation, Reserve, The Vintage and more. I caddied for Bill Gates, Michael Jordan, John Elway, Jason Giambi, Alice Cooper and many more legends of the game of life. 

The Junior Caddie Program

Hole 16- New School This chapter belongs to Lora. She has been my biggest supporter from day one, long before Flying Elbow was a logo or a brand or a story worth telling. She believed in the meaning behind it before anyone else did, and she kept pushing me to trust that it mattered. Now Flying Elbow is a recognized name, people are starting to understand what it stands for, and the real work begins, spreading the word and empowering young people to overcome whatever life throws at them. That is the mission, and it is bigger than ⛳️

As the week wraps up in Tempe I am humbled by the opportunity I got. I had a visit from the yips on my second round, something I've battled off and on the course most of my life. Nerves mean you care. Can you channel them to your benefit, do you need let go? That's the question every athlete needs to face at some point. I fought through, made the cut on the number and shot a career low 65 in the final round. The lesson is that I never get down on myself for more than one shot. The next shot might be the best one you ever hit and that's why we keep going. After a tough second round I went to the range and worked it out, found some confidence and let go of the past. This is something I work on every day of my life. We finished the week 70,73,65 -5. This tied me second for amateurs and gave me the courage to keep going and the feeling that I belong! #golf #flyingelbow #bombs #pgatour #amateurgolf #golflife #mentalgame
